Health and Safety Policy Flax Bourton

Part 1: Statement of Intent
This is the health and safety policy statement of Nell Candelaria Horsemanship at Flax Bourton, Wrigwell, Ipplepen TQ12 5UB.
 
The health/ and safety policy is to:
  1. Prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health
  2. Manage health and safety risks in the training environment
  3. Provide clear instructions and information to any visitor to the site
  4. Provide personal protective equipment for Nell Candelaria
  5. Provide and maintain safe equipment
  6. Ensure safe handling and use of substances (COSHH)
  7. Maintain safe and healthy working conditions
  8. Implement emergency procedures, including evacuation in the case of fire or other significant incident
  9. Review and revise this policy
Part 2: Responsibilities for health and safety
Overall and final responsibility for health and safety lies with Nell Candelaria. This includes safety, risk assessments,  work related ill health, first aid, monitoring and accident investigation, maintaining equipment and  training.
All visitors to the site should:
  1. Cooperate with Nell on health and safety matters
  2. Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and
  3. Report all health and safety concerns to Nell
Part 3: Arrangements for health and safety
Risk Assessment
Nell will complete relevant risk assessments and take action. She will review risk assessments when working habits or conditions change.
Training and Information
Nell will give visitors and subcontractors health and safety information where applicable. Nell will undertake relevant training on Health and Safety matters. Visitors to the site who attend for coaching are expected to bring their own personal protective equipment (up to date headgear and body protectors/air jackets). Visitors to the site for clinics or lessons will also be made aware of any site rules and information through the appropriate disclaimer form.
Review
Health and safety matters will be reviewed on an annual basis or as conditions or regulations apply.
Evacuation
We will make sure that escape routes are kept clear and free from obstructions.
Evacuation plans will be made available and tested from time to time and updated if necessary.
