Better Rider Course Week 1 Review

Week 1 of the Better Rider Course took place on Wednesday. A group of six learned about understanding and applying principles of Polyvagal Theory to help regulate their nervous systems. We moved onto exercises building core strength and balance, while exploring how we hold the reins to create more stability between horse and rider. We explored how to get in and out of the saddle safely, something that not many people practice well, and finished with some grounding breathing exercises to end the session on a relaxed note. Next week we will start to delve into confidence and what we need to know to help us overcome it.
